General information, not legal advice.
If a social worker violated your rights, and your children were removed unjustly, we want to hear from you.
Not in a comment. Not in a post that puts your family on display. Email us, and tell us what happened.
We are collecting names, cases, and proof from families across Alabama. A worker who lied in a report, threatened a family, falsified paperwork, or acted outside their duty should not be able to move on to the next family in silence. Your story, with dates and documents behind it, is how that silence ends.

Tell us, in your own words:
The name of the social worker, and the county where your case was.
What the worker did that violated your rights.
When it happened, dates if you have them.
Whether your children were removed, and what happened after.
What proof you have, letters, court papers, messages, audio, or video.
You do not have to send everything in your first email. Start with what happened, and what county you are in. We will ask for the rest.
Do not send your children’s full names, dates of birth, or other private details in your first email. Keep those private until we talk about how your story will be used. Anonymous submissions are welcome. If you want your name kept out of anything public, say so, and we will keep it out.
Here is what we will do with what you send. We will read it. We will check what can be verified, including whether the worker holds an Alabama social work license. We will not promise a legal outcome, and we will not promise to get your children home. What we can promise is this: your story will not sit in a binder, unanswered, the way so many families’ complaints already have.
If a worker is licensed, there is also a formal complaint route through the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners. If a worker is not licensed, most DHR caseworkers are not, the complaint goes through DHR’s chain in writing, supervisor, county director, then state DHR. We can help you understand which door fits your case, but this article is not a complaint form. This article is a call to the community.
If you have been waiting for someone to listen, this is that moment. If you know a family who went through this and never got an answer, send this to them.

What they did in the dark deserves to be told in the light.
